Baseball Game Preview: Cranston East Thunderbolts vs. North Kingstown Skippers

Cranston East is 2-7 against North Kingstown since May of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Thunderbolts will head out to square off against the Skippers at 4:00 p.m.

Cranston East is headed into Monday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Thursday. They fell 6-2 to Moses Brown.

Cranston East got a good showing from Damien Wholey, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Wholey has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Cranston East saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tyler Chisolm, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI. Anthony Pimentel also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Meanwhile, North Kingstown waltzed into their game on Saturday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Falcons. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Skippers have posted since April 17th.

North Kingstown pushed their record up to 10-4 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. As for Cranston East, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-11.
