Softball Game Preview: Sandy Pioneers vs. Century Jaguars

The Sandy Pioneers will head out to square off against the Century Jaguars at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Sandy will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

Sandy had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt West Albany on Wednesday. The Pioneers were the clear victors by a 14-4 margin over the Bulldogs. The result was nothing new for the Pioneers, who have now won five games by ten runs or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, Century came up short against Gresham on Thursday, falling 13-5. The Jaguars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Bailey Udasco was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two runs. That home run marked the first that she launched this season. Another player making a difference was Avery Gonzalez, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Sandy's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-2. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Century, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-5.
