Soccer Game Preview: Loyd Star vs. St. Patrick

The Loyd Star Hornets will take on the St. Patrick Fighting Irish on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Loyd Star is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They put the hurt on Puckett with a sharp 5-1 victory. Winning may never get old, but the Hornets sure are getting used to it with their 15th in a row.

Meanwhile, St. Patrick kept a clean sheet against Southeast Lauderdale on Saturday. They were the clear victor by an 8-0 margin over the Tigers. It was an even better day for Michael Baty as he scored three goals for his team.

St. Patrick is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 18-4-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up three goals over those eight contests. As for Loyd Star, their win bumped their record up to 17-1-2.

Loyd Star might still be hurting after the 4-0 loss they got from St. Patrick when the teams last played back in February of 2024. Can Loyd Star avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
