Softball Game Preview: Highland Fighting Scots vs. Big Walnut Golden Eagles

The Highland Fighting Scots are taking a road trip to challenge the Big Walnut Golden Eagles at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday. Neither Highland nor Big Walnut posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

Highland is headed into Thursday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Wednesday. They took a 7-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of Clear Fork.

Meanwhile, Big Walnut unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Wednesday. They fell 6-1 to Centerburg.

Kyra Holmes made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run.

Big Walnut's defeat dropped their record down to 12-9. As for Highland, their loss dropped their record down to 11-9.

Highland took their win against Big Walnut when the teams last played back in April of 2022 by a conclusive 11-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Fighting Scots since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
