Casa Grande waltzed into their matchup on Friday with nine straight wins... but they left with ten. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 6-5 W against the Vintage Crushers. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 9-4 victory two weeks ago.

Lila Partridge made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out six batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off seven hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 18 consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Lauren Ketchu, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. Another player making a difference was Veronica Nunez-Miller, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

Casa Grande pushed their record up to 20-5-1 with the win, which was their ninth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Vintage, their defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 18-7.

Casa Grande wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 3-2 win against San Ramon Valley on the 23rd. As for Vintage, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 4-3 loss against San Marin on the 20th.
