Baseball Recap: Slocomb Comes Up Short

Slocomb was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against the Wicksburg Panthers, falling 7-1. If the Red Tops were looking for revenge after losing 21-0 to the Panthers when the teams met back in March of 2022, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Slocomb saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cade Birge, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

Slocomb's defeat dropped their record down to 12-9. As for Wicksburg, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 14-7.

While Slocomb had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
