Baseball Recap: Patton Drops Season-High Score on Brevard

Patton made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Brevard, but they still couldn't quite topple them. Patton blew past Brevard 12-6 on Tuesday. The Panthers' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Cohen Christian made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out nine batters over 6.2 innings while giving up four earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. Christian was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 3-for-5.

In other batting news, Patton got a massive performance out of Laine Barrier, who went 3-for-5 with four RBI and two doubles. Those two doubles gave Barrier a new career-high. Cole Attaway was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI.

Patton was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .472. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Patton's win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 6-4. As for Brevard, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-3.

Looking ahead, Brevard will face off against Enka at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Brevard is facing Enka at the right time seeing as Enka is stuck on a four-game losing streak. Patton will be paying especially close attention to Brevard's game: after Brevard faces off against Enka, they'll take on Patton again at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
