Baseball Recap: Canisius Crusaders vs. St. Francis Red Raiders        
        
		
            
 Canisius won the last time they faced St. Francis, and things went their way  on Saturday too. The Canisius Crusaders walked away with  a   5-2  victory over the St. Francis Red Raiders. The  win made it back-to-back  victories for Canisius.
  Joe Cheman spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned  (and one unearned) run on two hits and racked up seven Ks.
 On the hitting side, Canisius saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Nick Scime, who  scored a  run while going 1-for-2. The team also got some help courtesy of  David Barczak, who  scored a  run and  stole a base while going 1-for-3.
 On St. Francis' side,  Jack Homer was cooking despite his team's loss,   scoring a  run while going 2-for-3.
 Canisius' win  ended  a  four-game drought at home  dating back to last season and  bumped them up to 2-5. As for St. Francis, they  haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-7.
 Both  teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Canisius will take on St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute at 4:30  p.m.  on Monday. The last three games St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for St. Francis, they will look to defend their home field  on Monday against Bishop Timon-St. Jude at 4:30  p.m. St. Francis is facing Bishop Timon-St. Jude at the right time seeing as Bishop Timon-St. Jude is stuck on  a  three-game losing streak.
