Baseball Recap: Delhi Drops Season-High Score on Waterford

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Delhi). They were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Waterford Wildcats on Wednesday. The Hawks not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since March 20, 2024.

Julian Gonzalez was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in March of 2024.

The win made it two in a row for Delhi and bumps their season record up to 5-6. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.5 runs over those games. As for Waterford, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-10.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Delhi is set to face off against their familiar foe Mariposa County at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Waterford will challenge rival Le Grand at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
