Softball Recap: Castle Rock Takes a Loss

Castle Rock extended their losing streak to three on Monday, dropping them down to 3-6. They lost 15-3 to the Toutle Lake Ducks. The Rockets were not able to make up for their defeat to the Ducks from their previous meeting back in April of 2025.

As for Toutle Lake, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-1. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four games by ten runs or more this season.

For Toutle Lake's part, Audrey Kilponen spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on eight hits and racked up seven Ks.

On the hitting side, Karly Opsahl was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. That triple was her first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ella Nicholson, who got on base in two of her five plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Toutle Lake beat Castle Rock by a score of 19-15 later that day.
