Baseball Game Preview: Severna Park Falcons vs. Arundel Wildcats

Severna Park is 9-1 against Arundel since April of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. Severna Park will be playing at home against Arundel at 4:45 p.m. Arundel took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Severna Park, who comes in off a win.

Severna Park is headed into the contest having just posted their closest victory since April 3, 2024 on Friday. They had just enough and edged out North County 8-7.

Meanwhile, Arundel fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Old Mill on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Patriots by a score of 7-6. Wildcats fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Patriots since on Friday.

Tahner McGriff was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched 6.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits.

At the plate, Nicholas Billheimer made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-5 with two runs and one triple. That triple marked the first that he hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabe Pedrozo, who scored a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Arundel's defeat was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-5. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 6.2 runs this season. As for Severna Park, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.
