Oakfield-Alabama has gone a perfect 8-0 against Elba recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Hornets will welcome the Lancers at 5:00 p.m.

Oakfield-Alabama fell victim to Notre Dame and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They lost 9-0 to the Fighting Irish. Having soared to a lofty 14 runs in the game before, the Hornets' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Elba ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Byron-Bergen 3-2. The victory was some much needed relief for the Lancers as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Nicholas Scott was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over 7.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. Scott was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one double. That triple was his first of the season.

Scott wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Bing Zuber, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Elba now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Oakfield-Alabama, they now have a losing record of 6-7.
