HOOHULI MISSES GAME THEN EXPLODES FOR 85 POINTS IN TWO CONTESTS

St. Marys superstar guard Kayla Hoohuli, who is headed to Canisius next season, was forced to miss a game against DuBois last week because of a head injury, and the Lady Dutch lost their first game of the season 62-40 to the Lady Beavers.

Hoohuli returned to the court with a vengeance and has scored 85 points in two games since missing the DuBois game Jan. 11. She had 39 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists in a 58-50 win over rival Elk County Catholic Saturday and then added 46 points and 10 steals in a 57-48 win over Punxsutawney Monday.

The 46 points tie for the second-most in her career behind the 52 she had in the state playoffs against Hampton last March. It marked the seventh time in her career she has topped 40 points in a game and the 31st time she has gone over 30 points in a contest including eight times this season in 12 games.

Hoohuli is averaging 29.8 points, 11.8 rebounds, six assists and 8.4 steals per game this season for the 12-1 Lady Dutch.

BURRELL WRESTLING CONTINUES TO DOMINATE
The Burrell (Lower Burrell) wrestling team, ranked second in the state by the National Collegiate Wrestling Association, continues to dominate, racking up a 5-0 record over the weekend at the prestigious Brookville Duals that included defending state champion Fort LeBoeuf.
