Basketball Recap: Sebastian River Victorious

Sebastian River proved they can win big on Thursday (they won by 30) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Cocoa Tigers 55-53. That's more bragging rights for the Sharks, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Andrew Simpson was his usual excellent self, going 5 of 10 en route to 16 points. Another player making a difference was Sergio Hogue, who posted eight points.

Despite the loss, Cocoa still got an impressive performance from Tony Adderley, who went 6 of 10 on his way to 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of TJ Parks, who put up eight points.

Sebastian River's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-4. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.7 points per game. As for Cocoa, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-8.

Sebastian River didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 54-36 loss against Treasure Coast on the 4th. Cocoa has also already played their next contest, a 70-65 defeat against Titusville on the 7th.
