Softball Recap: Westminster Wolves vs. Adams City Eagles
Westminster took a 11-run defeat the last time they faced off against Adams City, but they managed to turn things around on Friday. The Westminster Wolves had just enough and edged the Adams City Eagles out 11-9. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Wolves have posted since August 26th.
Magaly Santacruz was incredible, going 3-for-4 with a home run, five RBI, and a stolen base. She is on a roll when it comes to home runs, as she's now launched at least one in the last three games she's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Cynthia Rosales, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Westminster kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now hit at least ten hits in three consecutive matches.
Westminster's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-13. As for Adams City, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season.
