Baseball Recap: Goddard Victorious

The home team had won the previous five meetings between Goddard and Andover Central, and Goddard kept the tradition alive. The Lions came out on top against the Jaguars by a score of 5-1 on Tuesday. For the Lions, this counts as revenge for the 13-3 victory the Jaguars walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2025.

Deacon Schmidt tossed a big game, pitching six innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits.

At the plate, Axel Lehmer was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Jaxson Mruk was another key player, earning one run and four stolen bases.

Goddard's win bumped their record up to 11-6. As for Andover Central, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-7.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Goddard beat the Jaguars by a score of 1-0 later that day.
