Basketball Recap: Marion P. Thomas Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Vincent Loomis and Nairi Latham

After flying high against Great Oaks last Friday, Marion P. Thomas came back down to earth. Marion P. Thomas received a blow on Saturday as they fell 74-60 to the Hillside Comets. Marion P. Thomas hasn't had much luck with Hillside recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.

Marion P. Thomas' loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Nairi Latham, who posted 22 points and five assists, and Vincent Loomis, who put up 21 points along with eight rebounds and five assists. Latham's morning made it six games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Dayvon Hinson, who had five points in addition to six boards and five assists.

Marion P. Thomas' defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Hillside, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Marion P. Thomas will welcome Paterson Charter School for Science and Technology at 4:30 p.m. on January 4, 2025. As for Hillside, they will face off against Scotch Plains-Fanwood at 2:30 p.m. on January 4, 2025.
