Volleyball Recap: Tucumcari Extends Winning Streak to Two

Santa Rosa came into Saturday's match looking for another win against Tucumcari, but Esperanza Martinez wouldn't allow it. The Rattlers came out on top against the Lions by a score of 3-1 on Saturday thanks in part to Martinez, who had 25 digs and two aces. She is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 12 or more in each of the last five games she's played.

Tucumcari walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the third set). The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 18-25, 25-15, 25-22.

The win made it two in a row for Tucumcari and bumps their season record up to 9-10. As for Santa Rosa, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-11.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Tucumcari will face off against rival Pecos at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Santa Rosa is set to square off against their familiar foe Clayton at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
