Basketball Recap: Taylor's Crossing Takes a Loss

Taylor's Crossing lost against Rockland back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Taylor's Crossing Eagles were beaten by the Rockland Bulldogs 52-11.

Despite the loss, Taylor's Crossing saw an underclassman step up: freshman Alexis Ellis posted two points in addition to nine boards and four blocks. Ellis is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down nine or more in the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Reagan Smith, who had five points and three steals.

Rockland got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Calyn Permann out in front who went 5 for 12 en route to 12 points and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Alexa Permann, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and nine boards.

Taylor's Crossing's defeat dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Rockland, they have been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 13 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season.

Taylor's Crossing is taking a road trip to challenge Sho-Ban at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Rockland does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
