Volleyball Recap: Rogers Mountaineers vs. Greenwood Bulldogs

Rogers unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They fell just short of the Greenwood Bulldogs by a score of 3-2 on Thursday. The Mountaineers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldogs apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in August of 2024.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Rogers sadly dropped the once that decided the match. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 8-25, 25-16, 12-25, 25-23.

Despite the defeat, Rogers saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Drew Deimel had nine digs and two aces.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Rogers will take on Prairie Grove at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Greenwood, they will look to take advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they take on Fayetteville at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
