Football Recap: Carmel Find Success

After losing to St. Laurence the last time they met, Carmel decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Corsairs walked away with a 21-14 win over the Vikings on Friday.

Trae Taylor had another great game (as he tends to do), throwing for 217 yards and one TD while completing 80% of his passes, and also rushing for 34 yards and one score.

Carmel's victory bumped their record up to 3-1. As for St. Laurence, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 3-1.

Carmel and St. Laurence should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings. The Corsairs will square off against Marian Catholic at 7:30 p.m. on Friday with a big rank advantage (33 vs. 188). Meanwhile, St. Laurence (ranked 56th) will meet Leo (ranked 339th) at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday.
