Preview: Maple Mountain Golden Eagles vs. Timpview Thunderbirds

Maple Mountain is 0-7 against Timpview since January of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Maple Mountain Golden Eagles will look to defend their home court against the Timpview Thunderbirds at 5:15 p.m. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Tuesday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Maple Mountain beat Cedar Valley 47-43. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Maple Mountain.

Maple Mountain got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Leah Bailey out in front who scored 12 points along with five assists. Rachel Messick was another key contributor, scoring six points.

Maple Mountain's lineup was just a bit different on Tuesday as Makayla Smith got a bit more time on the court (16 vs. her season average of 7.85). Smith made the most of the opportunity, scoring four points along with five rebounds. A few more games like that and she might be seeing even more time going forward.

Meanwhile, in a tight contest that could have gone either way, Timpview made off with a 42-41 victory over Salem Hills.

Maple Mountain's win bumped their record up to 14-6. As for Timpview, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 15 games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season.

Maple Mountain might still be hurting after the 50-27 defeat they got from Timpview in their previous meeting back in January. Will Maple Mountain have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other basketball content.
