Football Recap: Leyton's Victory on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Leyton extended their winning streak to three games thanks to a huge performance from Colt Van Anne. The Warriors claimed a resounding 85-38 victory over the Crawford Rams thanks in part to Van Anne, who rushed for 69 yards and one score, and also picked up 52 receiving yards and one TD. He was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 58 yards.

Crawford's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cody Holmgren, who picked up 134 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also rushed for 47 yards. Holmgren is also crushing it when it comes to receiving touchdowns: he's hauled in at least two every time he's taken the field this season. Cash Anders was in the mix as well, providing Crawford with two TDs.

Leyton's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Crawford, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Leyton and Crawford will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next contests. The next time the Warriors see the field they'll take on Potter-Dix at 7:00 p.m. on the 26th. As for Crawford, their break will end when they face Cody-Kilgore at 7:00 p.m. on the 25th.
