Softball Recap: East Paulding Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

East Paulding entered their tilt with New Manchester on Tuesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They were the clear victors by a 16-1 margin over the Jaguar. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 19-0 on September 4th.

Ella Shyer was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over four innings pitched. Shyer was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one triple and one RBI. Those two hits gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, East Paulding let Chloe Grier and Emma Hernandez run wild. Grier went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI, while Hernandez went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Hernandez continues to improve, besting her previous run total in each of the last three games she's played. Raelyn Benton was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

East Paulding was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .594. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .474 or higher in three consecutive games.

East Paulding's record now sits at 15-9. As for New Manchester, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-12-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. East Paulding will welcome South Paulding at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for New Manchester, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Sandy Creek at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Jaguar's pitchers better be ready for this one: the Patriots have averaged an impressive 7.8 runs per game this season.
