Volleyball Recap: Upper Scioto Valley Starts Season with Defeat on the Road

Upper Scioto Valley had to start their season on the road on Monday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They lost 3-0 to the Riverdale Falcons. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it four in a row.

Upper Scioto Valley took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-14, 25-15, 25-21.

Raegan Castle paced Upper Scioto Valley's offense, picking up nine kills. Castle got some help from Audrey Lawrence and her 14 assists. Lawrence was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Riverdale has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Upper Scioto Valley didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Arlington on the 19th. As for Riverdale, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 3-0 victory against Cory-Rawson on the 19th.
