Baseball Recap: Dansville Comes Up Short

Dansville extended their losing streak to three on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 4-6 in the process. They lost 11-1 to the Waverly Warriors. The contest marked the Aggies' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

As for Waverly, their victory bumped their record up to 8-3. The result was nothing new for the Warriors, who have now won five games by seven runs or more so far this season.

For Waverly's part, Jackson Gomez made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over four innings pitched. Gomez has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

In other batting news, Carter Owens was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three stolen bases and three runs. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Jackson Delong was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.

Coming up, Dansville will be playing in front of their home fans against Perry at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Waverly, they will square off against Okemos at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Wolves will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Warriors surely won't give up without a fight.
