Softball Recap: Pusch Ridge Christian Academy Takes a Loss

Pusch Ridge Christian Academy extended their losing streak to three on Wednesday, dropping their season record down to 9-11 in the process. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Safford Bulldogs. The Lions were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldogs apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Pusch Ridge Christian Academy saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Addy Johnston, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

As for Safford, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 13-11 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games.

On Safford's side, Breanna Arbizo was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two doubles and one RBI. That's the most hits Arbizo has posted since back in March.

Pusch Ridge Christian Academy wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 15-5 defeat against Sahuarita on the 25th. As for Safford, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 16-1 victory against Thatcher on the 25th.
