Baseball Recap: Midlothian Extends Home Winning Streak to Three

Midlothian hadn't done well against Hanover recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Trojans came out on top against the Hawks by a score of 10-5. For the Trojans, this counts as revenge for the 3-2 win the Hawks walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2019.

Midlothian pushed their record up to 9-4 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games. As for Hanover, the defeat snapped their winning streak at eight games and leaves them with a 8-2 record.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Midlothian will host Clover Hill at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The last four games the Cavaliers have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Hanover, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Mechanicsville at 7:00 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Hawks 2.4, the Mustangs 2.5) so any runs scored will be well earned.
