Basketball Game Preview: Napavine Tigers vs. Onalaska Loggers

The Napavine Tigers are taking a road trip to square off against the Onalaska Loggers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Onalaska will be up against a hot Napavine team: the squad just extended their winning streak to six. The Tigers blew past Rainier 61-31 on Tuesday. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 21st, while the Mountaineers are ranked 146th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Hayden Kaut continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 11-for-13 en route to 30 points and seven rebounds. The game was her fourth in a row with at least 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Nicholle Valentine, who shot 86% from the field on her way to 12 points and seven boards.

Napavine was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Rainier only posted three.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Onalaska). They breezed past Morton/White Pass to the tune of 78-47 on Tuesday. The Loggers have beaten the Timberwolves the last four times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Timberwolves has come to flipping the script.

Napavine's record is now 14-4. As for Onalaska, their record now sits at 10-5.

Everything came up roses for Napavine against Onalaska in their previous meeting back in February of 2025, as the squad secured a 65-22 win. In that matchup, the Tigers amassed a halftime lead of 43-14, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Thursday.
