Baseball Recap: Hackensack Takes a Loss

Hackensack lost against Teaneck back in April of 2021, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Comets took an 8-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Highwaymen. The Comets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Darius Pemberton was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one triple, and one run. He is becoming a predictor of Hackensack's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is 2-1 (and 4-6 when he doesn't). Mike Salcedo was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Hackensack now has a losing record of 6-7. As for Teaneck, the victory snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 5-9 record.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hackensack will square off against Ridgewood at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. As for Teaneck, they will face off against Pascack Valley at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
