Softball Recap: Hicks Triumphs

After losing to Montgomery the last time they met, Hicks decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Hicks Pirates came out on top against the Montgomery Tigers by a score of 6-2 on Tuesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Pirates.

Courtlyn Dousay spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs allowed (both of which were unearned) on six hits.

At the plate, Jayde Wilbanks was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Katie-Grace Quinn, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI.

Hicks' victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Montgomery, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-2.

Looking ahead, Hicks will be taking part in a tournament against Westlake at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Montgomery, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Zwolle at 5:00 p.m.
