            The Conestoga Cougars will challenge the Fremont Tigers at 5:00  p.m.  on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Conestoga has three straight  wins, Fremont has five straight  losses), but none of that matters once you're on the pitch.
Conestoga is headed in fresh off scoring the most  goals they have   all season. They put the hurt on Madison with a sharp  9-2 victory on Tuesday. With that  win, Conestoga brought their scoring average up to 3.2  goals per game.
Their offense was hitting Madison from everywhere, as six different players booted in a goal.  Dylan Kayhanfar led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by himself.
 Meanwhile,  it was a proper cat-fight when Fremont took on Norfolk on Tuesday. The Tigers lost  4-1 to the Panthers. While losing is never fun, Fremont can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage  in MaxPreps' Nebraska soccer rankings (they are ranked 47th, while Norfolk are ranked ninth).
 Fremont's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Conestoga,  the  victory  got them back to even at 3-3.
 Conestoga might still be hurting after the  5-1 loss they got from Fremont  in their previous matchup  back in April of 2024. That  matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Cougars were down  4-0.
