Soccer Recap: Estacado Takes a Loss

If Estacado was feeling good fresh off their 5-0 takedown of Big Spring last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Estacado Matadors fell just short of the Sweetwater Mustangs by a score of 3-2 on Friday. The Matadors were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Mustangs earlier this season, when they won 4-1.

Gabie Garcia and Destini Charles-Hernandez scored both of Estacado's goals, bringing their combined season tally to eight goals.

Estacado's loss dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Sweetwater, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-7.

Looking ahead, Estacado will host Pecos at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Sweetwater, they will head out to square off against Lake View at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in Lake View's favor as the squad sits on four straight wins at home while Sweetwater has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.
