Baseball Recap: Lake Mary Prep Takes a Loss

The home team had come away the winner the last six times Lake Mary Prep and Geneva had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Lake Mary Prep Griffins came up short against the Geneva Knights on Tuesday, falling 9-3. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Knights this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 12-2 two weeks ago.

Lake Mary Prep saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ty Ogden, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. Those hits marked the first that Ogden got this season.

Lake Mary Prep's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Geneva, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-1.

Coming up, Lake Mary Prep will venture away from home to square off against Crooms Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Crooms Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 11.6 runs per game this season. As for Geneva, they will be playing at home against Merritt Island Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Geneva also hasn't been messing around on offense: they've averaged 10 runs per game.
