Baseball Game Preview: Thousand Oaks Lancers vs. Calabasas Coyotes

For the second straight game, Thousand Oaks will face off against Calabasas. The Lancers will be playing at home against the Coyotes at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.

On Tuesday, Thousand Oaks didn't have quite enough to beat Calabasas and fell 9-8. The Lancers haven't had much luck with the Coyotes recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

James Luderer made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. He is becoming a predictor of Thousand Oaks' success: when he posts at least three hits the team is 2-1 (and 10-11 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Dylan Sax, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.

Calabasas pushed their record up to 16-9 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.6 runs over those games. As for Thousand Oaks, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-12.
