Football Recap: Austin Comes Up Short

Austin had lost three straight at home, but on Thursday they dropped down to 1-5 to make it four. They were beaten by the Dripping Springs Tigers 56-13. Having soared to a lofty 35 points in the game before, the Maroons couldn't push the score so high this time.

Although Austin took the loss, they still got scores from Alijah Jablon and Mac Diamond.

As for Dripping Springs, the win keeps them at an undefeated 6-0. Considering they have won five games by more than 26 points this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

It was another big night for Chase Ames, who threw for 393 yards and six TDs while completing 76.2% of his passes, and also punched in one rushing score. He has been hot recently, having posted three or more passing touchdowns the last three times he's played. James Montgomery was another key player, picking up 177 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Austin has already played their next contest, a 58-14 loss against Westlake on the 9th. As for Dripping Springs, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 28-21 victory against Bowie on the 10th.
