Baseball Recap: Apex Cougars vs. Apex Friendship Patriots
After flying high against Green Hope last Friday, Apex came back down to earth. The Cougars fell just short of the Apex Friendship Patriots by a score of 6-5 on Thursday. The Cougars haven't had much luck with the Patriots recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

DANE PURDY was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed 4.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and five unearned) runs off six hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.
