Softball Recap: Clay Blue Devils vs. Mandarin Mustangs
After flying high against Menendez last Friday, Clay came back down to earth. The Blue Devils fell just short of the Mandarin Mustangs by a score of 8-6 on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Blue Devils have suffered since March 25, 2024.
Sadie Russo was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she didn't allow a single earned run over 4.1 innings pitched.
At the plate, Amiah Carrubba led a balanced group of hitters, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooke Hamilton, who scored a run while going 3-for-4.
