Basketball Recap: Cross Comes Up Short

Cross was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They took a 50-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Thomas Heyward Academy Rebels. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Stingrays this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 63-32 back in January.

Cross' loss dropped their record down to 4-19. As for Thomas Heyward Academy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-3 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cross and John Paul II will face off at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday without much rest having both just played. As for Thomas Heyward Academy, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Patrick Henry Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Thomas Heyward Academy will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
