Volleyball Recap: Alta Comes Up Short

Alta lost against Skyline back in October of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Hawks lost 3-0 to the Eagles.

While Alta was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-22, 25-17.

Leading Skyline to victory were Evageline Lotulelei and Lei Saltiban. Lotulelei had 28 assists and seven digs, while Saltiban had 13 assists. That's the most digs Lotulelei has posted over her last six contests. Mischa Wright also deserves some recognition as she had her first kills of the season.

Alta's defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 12-10. As for Skyline, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Alta is set to take on their familiar foe Olympus at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Skyline will face off against rival Bountiful at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
