Softball Preview: Robinson Rams vs. South Lakes Seahawks

The Robinson Rams will head out to face off against the South Lakes Seahawks at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Robinson lost 10-1 to Forest Park on Monday. The Rams have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Marina Palazzo was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one triple and one RBI.

Meanwhile, South Lakes waltzed into their contest on Monday with seven straight wins... but they left with eight. They blew past the Stallions 13-3. The Seahawks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by six runs or more this season.

Gracie De La Cruz made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out six batters over five innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with one RBI.

In other batting news, Kayla Rudolph was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Cassandra De La Cruz, who scored three runs while going 3-for-4.

South Lakes always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .515. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as South County only posted an OBP of .364.

South Lakes pushed their record up to 9-1 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Robinson, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-6.
