Volleyball Recap: Madison County Finds Home Court Redemption Against Madison Academy

There's no place like home for Madison County, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the Madison Academy Mustangs on Tuesday. That's more bragging rights for the Tigers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Madison County had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 20-25, 25-17, 25-22, 25-11.

Izzy Fearnside paced Madison County's offense, picking up 12 kills. Fearnside got some help from Addy Gustafson and her 36 assists. Fearnside was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Madison County's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-1. As for Madison Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Madison County will welcome St. John Paul II at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Madison Academy, they will take on Kate Duncan Smith DAR at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
