Softball Game Preview: Sabine Cardinals vs. White Oak Roughnecks

Sabine hasn't had much luck against White Oak recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Sabine Cardinals will head out to challenge the White Oak Roughnecks at 6:00 p.m. Sabine has given up an average of 13.3 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.

Sabine is headed into Tuesday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their ninth straight game dating back to last season on Saturday. They lost 14-3 to Tatum. That's two games in a row now that the Cardinals have lost by exactly 11 runs.

Breanna Hill and Emma Bradford stepped up to the plate in a big way. Hill scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3, while Bradford scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-2. Hill also brought in two RBI, marking her first of the season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask White Oak). Everything went their way against Jefferson on Friday as White Oak made off with a 13-3 victory. The Roughnecks haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.

White Oak's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-5-1. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.7 runs over those games. As for Sabine, their loss dropped their record down to 0-6.

Sabine came up short against White Oak when the teams last played back in April of 2024, falling 6-1. Can Sabine avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
