Basketball Recap: Highlands Takes a Loss

Highlands was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They took a blow against the Murphy Bulldogs, falling 82-33. The Highlanders lost against the Bulldogs in their previous head to head back in February of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 80-60 score last time.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Murphy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Brady Grant, who almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Abram Twiggs, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten boards.

Highlands' defeat dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Murphy, the win got them back to even at 4-4.

Highlands wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 75-56 loss against Cherokee on the 7th. As for Murphy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 62-58 victory against Polk County on the 7th.
