Volleyball Recap: Amphitheater Comes Up Short

Amphitheater was the 3-2 winner over St. Augustine Catholic when they last played one another on March 12th, but their luck changed this time around. Amphitheater fell 3-1 to St. Augustine Catholic on Thursday. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

While Amphitheater ultimately came up short, they really made St. Augustine Catholic work, particularly in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 27-25, 21-25, 25-20.

Amphitheater's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for St. Augustine Catholic, with the victory, they broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-9.

Looking ahead, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Amphitheater Panthers take on Marana Tigers at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for St. Augustine Catholic, they will take on Cholla at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. St. Augustine Catholic is facing Cholla at the right time seeing as Cholla is stuck on an eight-game losing streak.
