Softball Game Preview: Mission Viejo Diablos vs. Tesoro Titans

For the second straight game, Mission Viejo will face off against Tesoro. The Diablos will host the Titans at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Mission Viejo 4, Tesoro 2.6) so any runs scored will be well earned.

On Thursday, Mission Viejo narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Tesoro 3-2.

For Tesoro's part, Loula McNamara spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on nine hits. McNamara has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 15 consecutive appearances.

Tesoro is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-9. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the defeats came by an average of only 1.33 runs. As for Mission Viejo, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 12-13.
