Soccer Game Preview: Land O' Lakes vs. Wiregrass Ranch

The Land O' Lakes Gators will head out on the road to square off against the Wiregrass Ranch Bulls at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Land O' Lakes will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

Last Tuesday, Land O' Lakes had just enough and edged Cypress Creek out 2-1.

Eve Douglas was the driving force of Land O' Lakes' attack as she scored both of Land O' Lakes' goals, bringing her season total up to 12 goals.

Meanwhile, Wiregrass Ranch kept a clean sheet against Pasco on Monday. They put the hurt on the Pirates with a sharp 8-0 win. Given the Bulls' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 168th, while the Pirates are ranked 399th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Wiregrass Ranch pushed their record up to 8-6-2 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those six matchups. As for Land O' Lakes, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3-1 record this season.

Land O' Lakes beat Wiregrass Ranch by a goal in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, winning 1-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Land O' Lakes since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
