Baseball Recap: Atlantis Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Atlantis's game on Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Holbrook Bulldogs a 15-0 shutout. Atlantis might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by seven runs or more this season.

David DeSouza Jr. made a splash no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over four innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Atlantis is 4-2 when he allows at most one earned run, but 2-5 otherwise. DeSouza Jr. was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April.

In other batting news, Devon Paradise was incredible, going 3-for-4 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Atlantis is 2-1 when Paradise posts three or more hits, but 4-6 otherwise. Luis Mejia also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Atlantis moved to 6-7 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak. As for Holbrook, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Atlantis will square off against Avon at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Holbrook, they will be playing at home against Westport at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
