Vallejo dropped their record down to 8-8-1 on Wednesday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They came up short against the El Cerrito Gauchos, falling 18-0. Considering the last time the Redhawks couldn't score was back in March, the team can't take the result too hard.

As for El Cerrito, their record is now 18-3. The result was nothing new for the Gauchos, who have now won 17 matchups by ten runs or more so far this season.

For El Cerrito's part, Courtney Miles was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (and not a single walk). Miles has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two hits in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Arlie Tatum, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, five RBI, and three runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. Sanai Vanhook was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.

Vallejo does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for El Cerrito, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, an 11-1 win against Hercules on the 16th.
