Recap: Fort Collins Lambkins vs. Poudre Impalas
The Fort Collins Lambkins lost against the Poudre Impalas back in October of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Fort Collins took a 17-10 hit to the loss column at the hands of Poudre. Fort Collins has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Poudre got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Brayden Bay out in front who threw for 262 yards and two touchdowns. Poudre also got help from Jackson Thole who showed off his sure hands for 82 receiving yards.
Fort Collins' loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 1-8. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 9-0 Columbine and 8-1 Mountain Vista (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 66.7% over those games). As for Poudre, their victory ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-6.
Fort Collins will take on Boulder at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Boulder comes in on a streak of failing to score more than ten points in their last five games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. As for Poudre, they will head out on the road to face off against Fossil Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
